For many years, the St Paul Monastery in Ellsworth, OH, and its community benefited from the presence of a large number of benefactors and volunteers who have become the support and promoters of its activities.
Another important milestone, two years after opening the bookstore, was celebrated on June 8, the Sunday of Pentecost. The Dedication of the new outdoor Rosary Garden, not at all ruined by the heavy rain, which, indeed, seemed to bless the tribute to the Blessed Virgin from heaven. In 2023 by an idea of Patty and Rick Durkin, from the support of the Friends of St Paul, from the economic contribution of many donors and above all from the prayer of everyone, the great project of building a Rosary Garden was born within the garden of the monastery, to make this place become more and more an aggregation and prayer center.
The numerous organizational problems have been overcome one after the other thanks to the numerous volunteers who regularly accompany the life of the confreres residing in Ohio. Friends of St. Paul, Holy Family Institute, and Knights of Columbus now represent the backbone of our apostolate in this part of the United States.
Lay people have been an integral part of the apostolate of the Society of St. Paul for years, as wanted by our founder, Don Giacomo Alberione, and the community of Canfield is one of the most beautiful confirmations of this principle on American soil.
